Psychological & Psychoeducational Evaluations
When you first come to see a therapist, he or she will evaluate what difficulties you need help with, and usually within a few session the underlying issues are identified. However, in some instances the reasons for the problems are not readily apparent. For example, you or your child may have problems in school. It is not lack of intelligence, but in some areas you just get stuck. In addition, some of us have hidden developmental or emotional situations that may need more specific assessment.
Psychological and psychoeducational evaluations are offered for:
- school gifted
- intelligence and potential testing
- identifying stengths, weaknesses and specific learning disabillities
- attentional difficulties such as ADD and ADHD
- assistance with diagnosis of emotional, developmental and behavioral problems
My evaluations take into consideration the intellect, style of learning, and the psychological and emotional growth of the individual. I especially consider the development of primary language other than English, and the differences in environment and culture that may affect a person's development and learning. |
